Super Bowl XLV

There’s a lot to talk about as the 2011 Super Bowl will take place this Sunday, February 6th at 3:00PM on FOX. First we’ll take a look at the match up between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers! Two classic organizations that are looking in the mirror as the teams bring similar weapons to the gridiron.

Arguably the 2 most successful franchises in the history of football as the Steelers have the most super bowl victories with 6 and the Packers have 3 rings of their own to go with their 11 NFL Championships. Both teams have been in the league since the beginning of it all and with memories of Vince Lombardi, Terry ‘The Blond Bomber’ Bradshaw, Bart Star, and of course ‘The Steel Curtain’ both teams want to add to their respected legacy.

Ben Roethlisberger vs. Aaron Rodgers
What more could you want? Here we have 2 players with rocket arms and the amazing ability to scramble with their eyes consistently down field. Despite Ben’s off-field controversy and Aaron’s looming concussion risk, this is due to be a QB match up for the ages.

Clay Mathews vs. Troy Polamalu
Two of the most dominant defensive forces in the NFL!! Both USC alums! (Fight On!) Both have amazing hair! Who will step up to the plate?

The list of amazing matchups continue as Greg Jennings and Donald Driver of the Packers look to out receive Mike Wallace and Hines Ward of the Steelers. Raji, Harrison, Starks, Mendenhall….the stars are coming out in Dallas!

Let’s step away from the game for awhile because I can see the testosterone levels of my readers reaching an all time high.

The Half-time entertainment will be performed by The Black Eyed Peas!!! A talented group with a bunch of ‘party-esque’ hits to their name, it should be fun. If that wasn’t enough rumor has it that Usher will make an appearance and the legendary guitar shredder Slash will join the peas on stage!!! If you’ve heard the Slash and Fergie collaborations of the past then you know you’re in for a treat on Sunday.

Now we all know that some people are more excited for the commercials than the game! Well this year is shaping up to be a production showcase as usual with one rumored commercial to feature Ozzy Osbourne and Justin Bieber!!

Great Game…
Great Show…
Great Ads…

Grab a beer, in fact, grab two...a handful of wings and lil weenies and enjoy the biggest Sunday of the year!

P.S.

GO PACKERS!
